The exhibition is open to the public on Saturdays, according to the schedule, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Special weekday visits are also available, as well as guided tours for school groups and associations upon request.
Reservations can be made through the Ticket.it platform.
Saturday Visits
During the Saturday openings, six tour slots are scheduled. The first entry is at 9:00 AM, and the last at 4:30 PM.
The calendar and available time slots can be viewed during the booking process.
Each tour has a maximum capacity of 20 people. The tour lasts a maximum of 1 hour and 20 minutes.
The tour includes the exhibition path and the Sistine Hall.
The ticket price includes an audio guide that will accompany you along the exhibition path. The audio guide will be available in the following languages:
- Italian
- English
- French
- Spanish

- Full ticket: 15€ (including fees)
- Reduced ticket: 10€ (including fees)
For over 65, under 26, people with disabilities, Vatican cardholders/BAV cardholders, and discounts for partners (Intesa Sanpaolo employees, ALI members, holders of Gallerie d’Italia/Galleria di Palazzo degli Alberti tickets within 30 days of the visit).

Those entitled to reduced/free tickets must present proof of their eligibility at the entrance of the Library.
Group visits
Group visits for schools, associations (max 30 people) with audioguide.
The visit includes the exhibition path and the Sistine Hall.
*Please note that during the working week, access to the Sistino may be restricted due to institutional events.

Exclusive Visits
Private tours for small groups: max. 5 or 10 people.
Exclusive tour with one of the exhibition curators.
The visit will include the exhibition path, the Sistine Hall, the Writers’ Hall, and other historical areas of the Library that are usually inaccessible to the public.

- Group entrance from 1 to 5 people: 150€ (including fees)
- Group entrance from 6 to 10 people: 270€ (including fees)
To access the exhibition, you will need
- Digital Ticket (printed or on a smartphone)
- Valid ID document (provided at the time of ticket purchase)
Important: Visitors are kindly requested to arrive at Porta Sant’Anna 15 minutes before their scheduled time slot.
If you arrive late, entry to the visit cannot be guaranteed.
Tickets will be sent by Ticket.it via email in PDF format and must be presented at the event entrance.
Important: Online ticket purchases are available up to 48 hours before the event. Tickets cannot be canceled or refunded.
How to get to the Vatican Library
Metro A – Ottaviano-S. Pietro stop
Bus – 590, 32, 19
Taxi Area – Via Stefano Porcari (corner of Via del Mascherino) or via ItTaxi app
San Pietro Train Station
Visitors will enter through Porta Sant’Anna on Via di Porta Angelica, 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
At the entrance, near the Gendarmerie checkpoint, exhibition staff will welcome groups and accompany them to the Library. Pedestrian access only.
The walk from Porta Sant’Anna to the Library takes approximately 3 minutes.

Exhibition tickets can only be purchased online at Ticket.it.
The exhibition’s publications and merchandise can be purchased on-site exclusively via electronic payment (Visa or MasterCard).

Please, note that the only authorized guides for the En route exhibition are the curators and the staff of the Vatican Apostolic Library. Just in case that, due to specific needs (linguistic or personal), the visit is to be conducted by an external guide, we kindly ask you to send a specific request to eventi@vatlib.it
